If there's any truth to this (at all), seems he isn't happy with the Poor Danny Action Figure, which should be on sale by the time CR debuts---he's 'too moody.'
Well, who the hell can blame him? :v
Apparently, he's also "hinted" that he'll demand changes in his digital alter-ego in videogame tie-ins if he feels it's necessary...

The man must not have looked in the mirror lately.
This just in:
CRAIG ACTION FIGURE HAS BEEN UPDATED TO RESEMBLE ROBERT REDFORD DUE TO ACTOR'S CONSTANT NITPICKING OF FACIAL FEATURES. )
Is this Sideshow infamous for their approach to depicting celebs?

Edit: My 4000th post and I blew it on a Count Chocula joke. Quite fitting actually. )

I'll be very curious to see what the Craig figure looks like.
Hardy, do you know if Brozzer succeeded in actually getting changes made to his figure? Seems to me that once everything's put in motion, it would be difficult (and expensive) to alter...

) ) Honestly, I don't know what the problem is. He almost always has that moody scowl on his face; though I will concede he has looked much better on the recent Esquire and EW covers. I do wonder what the accessories will be. Anybody up for a miniature carpet beater?
Their Bond figures have been hit or miss. As MBE mentioned, Dalton has the most hideous haircut inspired by the casino scenes in LTK.
The truth is those things are always horrible likenesses and I'm afraid Craig is fated to be disappointed. Better to ask for a higher take of the merchandizing and call it even. That is if Eon shares any of those profits.
Well, the way I heard it, Brosnan demanded change after change be made to his DAD figure, and it took a while for him to be satisfied. He was such a pain that when Sideshow launched the GoldenEye figures, they just reused the DAD head.
Oh, MBE--congrats on the 4,000th post. I also recall you sneering over Kate Beckinsale's "Count Chocula accent" in Van Helsing. I think it's a safe bet what's on your breakfast table!
Craig might perhaps hope for a bit of redemption in the Premium Format. Sideshow's PF Connery is remarkably good---and the Moore and Brosnan are superior to the 12" format as well, IMO. That's the good thing about 1/4 scale as opposed to 1/6---a bit larger sculpt seems to give these guys a better chance of 'getting it (more) right.'

Spoon sized shreaded wheat! If I was going to eat a bowl of sugar I'd much prefer Cap'n Crunch.
Honestly, I don't know what the point of having figures specifically of actors if they don't actually look like the actors. It can't be for the quality of the clothes. Sideshow should have asked to borrow Madame Tussauds Bond actor heads (or photos of the making of) for comparisons and cut them in for the profit. Then again Sideshow seems to sell them any way without much effort. GE Brosnan sold like DAD Brosnan even if it was just a change of clothes. Yes, I know smaller sculpts are far harder but there is no excuse for figures like Famke Jansen. Why should an actor be pleased to have something like that out on the market?

...But if they have the PF Dalton's hair in that stupid 'straight-back' hairdo, which he wore for 10 minutes in LTK...I'm afraid I might have to vomit...

IMHO the Sideshow models don't do much for the looks of any of the Bond actors. Timothy Daltons figure is shock-inducing. The best looking Sideshow figure is George Lazenby, probably the least sale-able actor, well, until they release Daniel Craig as James Bond m00dy.
On the likeness issue, maybe Craig want's a more easygoing appearance, like this one, on the doll can be posed doing the "Yeah, I'm James Bond now!" dance:
Yeah, the overall treatment he's received at the hands of his native tabloids has been nothing short of awe-inspiring.
Like I said, I'm really interested to see what the figure looks like (hopefully he won't look like he's been caught with a mouthful of Guinness Stout, as that picture seems to show!).

Two of the big points I've taken from the article are that:
1. Sideshow are making a Daniel Craig doll, after previously saying they wouldn't, and
2. a Casino Royale videogame is in the works, despite reports it's been scrapped because it couldn't be released in time with the movie.
The two points makes me think, did The Mirror make up the story?
Independent, one-shot comic books from the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia.

It's amazing how well this photo goes with your signature, supes!

Let me rewrite that caption to better fit the image:
“ …the gait of the figure alighting the gangplank was wobbly, after fighting back the bile brought on by that boatride on the Thames, made extra unpleasant by those #*%&$ Royal Marines.” –PRESS on conference announcing Craig as new Bond…

IMO, it looks like him. On the merits of the figure, it does look like a Sideshow sculpt. However, it resembles this earlier non-Bond, photo:
)
Truly hideous---and it arrives at the perfect time for a camp desperately in need of a boost )
Of course, I'll be properly mortified if this turns out to be real---still, it'll be good to know that my good friend AKB46 has secured work over at Sideshow... |)

Bond wears that outfit in the pre-credits sequence.
It's a rubbish scuulpt, but that's hardly against Sideshow's MO; it's not quite as bad as I was expecting from them, although the hair is very odd.
